Baby Peep Emergency

In Need Of A Chicken Whisperer
I know a few of you have had experience raising your own hatchlings. I have thirteen; 6 day old peeps and at least 2 of them have closed and matted vents. Are they to young to soak and remove or how should I handle this situation?  If I do nothing they will die, yet I don't want them to get chilled from being wet either.

Blessings, Mel

You need to add red pepper flakes to their food and lots of fresh water.
Good luck,

Thank you both very much for a quick reply. Riverbend won't the red pepper flakes to to spicy for them? What is in the red pepper flakes and what should I look for? Will this also shed the concrete looking stuff from their bottoms?

Sorry for all the questions as I've mentioned this is my first hatchlings.
