Ah.... Who Ever Knew, Dirt Could Smell So Good!

Hello my dear friends, Oh, how I have missed you and all there is about blogging. I have made a speedy recovery, and feel as though I'm back to my old self now. Whew, I would not wish the shingles on my worst enemy. I want to "Thank" each and everyone of you, for your thoughts and prayers. I send to all of you a big hug (((((Mooah))))))) as my little 23 month old says when mommy tells her to give her granny a hug... For the past few days, we have had the best of weather, yesterday, I grabbed a pitch fork, garden hoe, future fork (rake thingy, used in the horses stalls to sift out... well, you know, hosrey poo, and the regular yard rake and headed to my quiet place beyond the fence... my garden. After raking most of the old leaves from last fall, I grabbed the pitch fork and hand tilled the whole garden.... Now, mind ya, It's never come to mind how good dirt could smell, however, I just couldn't get enough of it. Must have been the llloooonnnngggg winter, indeed!

Look, even the chives, have come alive...

And the rhubarb...

My next step, for outside plantings is to get in the spinach, maybe some peas (however, I'm the only one who will eat them) and swiss chard. Next week; onions, and carrots, then broccoli, & cabbage. I have to plan very carefully, as to where I place my plants inside the garden, on count of the blight we had last season. I just cannot tell you how I am to get out there and play in the dirt. I bought 2 blueberry bushes, have to prepare the soil for them as they like acidic soil, I believe, I have to mix peet moss with something else before placing them in the ground. Strawberries, saw them at Wally Marts and bought 20 plants... Oh, just think, of the strawberry shortcake, strawberries dipped in chocolate, got my own mouth watering here. *lol*

Okay, that's enough babbling for one day...

Once again, Thank you all for your kind prayers, I am so blessed in many ways, you all are each a blessing in itself.

Hugs,

Mel
