Ordinary Shelves Made New Again

Hello everyone, I have decided to bust a move away from my crafting to send a few pictures of what I have been doing, since I haven't been on my blog.

My first project was a small shelf, in which; I converted into a candle box. I painted it a prim black, added an electric candle, tucked in some berry vine and rusty stars, this picture is just a look see, I have moved it upstairs in the landing area and thought it needed something more...

My daughter had mentioned a dollar store called
Real Deals. Hubby and I walked thru the store and what did I see... but this little swan, why I had just the right spot for that. I love it!!!

At night, I plug the candle in a it gives a beautiful glow to a once very dark area.

Then, I got the fever...

The Saturday before last, I went to town thrifting, all alone, just me... stopped in at the Good Will and ...well, just look at all I found....
Why, I was so tickled, I finally found a box full of goodies for a little of nothin'..........

The lantern looks awesome on the wooden beam just below my baskets, all it needed was some de-dusting.

Opps, almost forgot to do the before and after on this once stained shelf. This one, I mixed my own color using 3 parts antique white to 1 part black.

Painted it, ruffed up the edges for the old distressed look and Wha~ La! This one sits on my buffet in the dining area, filled with some old medicine jars, I literally dug up trying to fill some holes in the yard. A little knot headed welcome figure, (used to collect knot heads) a candle in a mini washtub, and some fragrant cakes from Linda over at Parkers Paridise....

This little crate, was screaming for a makeover, I wanted to do something special for my hubby... It is now the remote control keeper.

What a nifty idea..... No more pulling the cushions off the chairs in search of the remote controls. *LOL* It's a hit with my Hubby also, who chose the color "Black" for his mote box.

Last thing, I'm gonna post is.... when I was at the counter paying, the cashier spoke up and mentioned the chicken I was purchasing. ( I will post later on what I did with this)

She said; " ya know, we have a rooster too!"

No, no, I didn't see a rooster, well, she said it's right here......

And she pulls this up from under the counter....

Did you hear the squeeling? Why, this is the icing on the cake.... It is not only a Rooster.... It's a chalkboard.............

Linda, at Parker's Paridise.... Has created a monster........... I'm hooked........ Still, have several items to work on, so stay tuned.........

Oh, Honey, you are on a roll! Doesn't it feel great to make something great out of something that was so 'not so great'? Alright! You have the makeover bug! I love the mote box. And the shelves....And that little swan is so cute. Good to have lights on the stairs.

Thank you all for all your sweet comments. I will have plenty of spare time to work on the rest of the goodies... calling for 1 to 2 feet of snow over night.

Hugs,
