Coming Down By The Bucket ~ "Full" and One Whimpy Horse

We woke up to some "badly needed; rain" at first it was a nice steady watering the lawns, tree's, and garden kinda; rain~ Then, it let loose, filling up 5 gallon buckets; in no time.

Our neck of the woods has been going through quite a drought, the soil in the gardens were so dry and dusty, it lookes like sand. The grass even started to burn, leaving huge brown patches, our water level in the well dipped down to the point our faucets started to spit at us ~ Until late last night...

Thank you Lord, for this wet and rainy day!

Now, our Arabian, she is not so fond of the rain, not even willing to leave the barn. If she is out when the rains come, she just stands out there in the middle of the pasture like a statue (we've had to go out in some pretty bad thunderstorms to lead her back to the barn.) Do any of you horse owners have a horse that doesn't like to get wet? We have come to believe, she has very thin skin, as she just does not like to be brushed,or even loved on, she will either high tail it outside, or just gets really antzy. Her nick name is ~ " Miss Prissy"

Our Peony has been so bright, and beautiful but after our rain she is a little droopy. Hopefully, she isn't finished showing off her beauty for the year...

Speaking of beauty, our youngest grandchild just turned "1" on the 23rd of last month. She is just loving all the attention and the cake isn't so bad either.

We often have to stop and ask "where does the time go?" Just hard to believe, she is already a year old.

Love you little Z...

Hello, Canned quilter,

Welcome to Nickers & Neighs!
Yes, we've had a few dogs that wouldn't go out in the rain as well.

She's just a silly horse, that's all...

Awww... little "Z" is adorable, Mel!
Glad to hear you got some much needed rain- we've been getting lots of rain, too... unfortunately not the good soaking rains but downbursts that last maybe 15 minutes and dump an inch or two!! UGH!
Your Arabian is gorgeous... that's strange she doesn't like to be brushed- I thought all horses loved to be brushed.
Take care, dear- good to hear from you!!
