Somebody had a birthday here yesterday

It's my hubby, Happy Birthday Honey!

Waking up early, I stumble my way out of bed and down to the coffee pot (must have coffee) search for the "Country Women" magazine with the Belgium waffle recipe, there it is.
Grab my kitchen aid mixer and add 2 egg yolks, (put the egg whites in a smaller bowl for later) beat them; then to that added 1 cup of butter and 3/4 cups of sugar, plus a heaping tsp of vanilla, and last 1 cup of flour. Now, in that smaller bowl you'll need to whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Once you have completed all this, add the stiffed egg whites to the other ingredients (very carefully) by folding the two together. Wha~ La you now have a belgium waffle batter. Heat you waffle iron, grease, cook, and enjoy!!!
On his birthday, he is treated like a King...(Weelll, almost) started out breakfast in bed, then off to work he goes. Meanwhile, back at the ranch; I drag out the big box which will later be given to the birthday King.
It's a one man tree stand, just as he has been asking for, since deer season opened here. We are such great hunters, this stand will be used for many naps as we like to sit and listen to the sounds of birds chirping their fall to winter melodies, the leaves rustling from a squirrel that just so happens to be collecting his winter food supply, sound of the wind working it's way through the trees. All these tranquil sounds will put you to sleep, the only deer we catch is the ones we sit dreaming about.
When hubby arrived home from a long day at the office, it was his choice on homemade lasagna or out to his favorite little restaurant. Ended up we ate out, then came home to his chocolate cake topped with ice cream. Hubby sitting in front of the cake that is now on fire, and grandD who is coaching her Grampy to take a deep breath (without passing out) to blow out his candles.

"Happy Birthday Honey" we love you!

I always say 'catching a deer' when MrC went hunting. He says "I hate to tell you, but I'm not going to catch it." hee hee.
